After driving all day (and all night) on our 18 hour Tesla trip from Auburn, GA to Key West, FL, all we wanted to do was eat and relax. I pulled up one of the restaurants that I had added to our travel wishlist and we pointed the car to The Conch Republic Seafood Company.
The restaurant was busy and had a considerable wait, but we didn’t mind – the delicious smells wafting out onto the dock promised a good meal, and the marina gave us time to stretch our legs and get to know Key West in the meantime.
Once we were seated, we began ordering appetizers including the conch fritters that are pretty much synonymous with the Keys. They were tasty (probably the best fritters we had on the trip) and disappeared quickly. Similarly, all of the rest of our appetizers disappeared quickly as well – we were so hungry that I barely photographed our meal!
I had the swordfish on the recommendation of the waiter, and it was the best fish on the table – though they were all good! I don’t think there was a single morsel left on anyones plate.
